What does it mean to feel at home?
And when you’re there, what faraway places can you dream of?
Based on a few concrete answers, De ma fenêtre / from my window offers an invitation to travel between documentary and fiction, radio and performance, theater and sound creation.
An “intercom” evokes, of course, the bell of a building and the remoteness of the person on another floor who needs to use this intercom to find out who wants to contact them or enter their home. At first, it’s a voice that can be heard without being physically close, but almost there. Interphono questions the space at home in which a bell rings and someone is there on the other side for a possible meeting. From the solitude of one’s own home, the outside calls and an encounter is possible.
Interphono brings together a diversity of residents through a similar sound-gathering experience, starting from a neighborhood. We create a sound map of the city in 2024, 2025…
A “cartophony” made up of a series of portraits of the inhabitants of a large city.
These will be photographic and sonic traces of the city in our time.
Interphono is a survey of a changing city, immersed with its inhabitants. The Théâtre de la Tricoterie (Brussels) is responsible for this European project in 2024, based on an idea and concept by Delphine Salkin.
Radio-theater workshops are offered to local residents in several neighborhoods, with the aim of creating traces of the city and spaces of memory for the years 2023 and 2024.
These workshops are held in conjunction with a partner cultural structure in each country.
Interphono brings together three sound and three stage creations to be presented on April 13-14, 2025 during a 3-day Festival at La Tricoterie in Brussels.

RADIO WORKSHOPS - THEATRE
PHOTO AND SOUND EXHIBITIONS
From October 2023 to October 2024, workshops will be held with and for residents of the Agnettes district of Gennevilliers: we will be looking at what it means to live in a district and feel at home, and what we see and dream about from our windows. We invite you to imagine a journey, a space other than home, and let your own story unfold.
Workshops and drop-in sessions at associations, the Centre Culturel and in situ in the neighbourhood, with technical equipment and 2 speakers: a mobile recording booth, acoustic experiments and sound drawings, and the discovery of a map of the city to fill in and colour, with the sharing of everyday experiences based on a common questionnaire.

What do you prefer to do at home?

THEATRE CREATION
‘FROM MY WINDOW": a theatrical show
From my window, sound theatre is born.
The project will be created from and with sound creation, by collecting, reusing and working with ambient sounds, voices, music and sound effects to give birth to fiction.
From my window will be an invitation to take part, through listening, in the process of creating fiction, starting from what we dream at home, formulating our imaginary journeys, and extending them until we come to hear our reality differently…

What do we call home?
When, why and how do we feel ‘at home’?
And what other places do people dream of when they find themselves at home, especially in a changing neighbourhood that they haven’t always chosen?
We put these questions to Marcelle, Lucien, Aminata, Estelle, Ella, Nathalie, Maïssa, Djaffer, Samir and Jean, all residents of Gennevilliers, all neighbours who didn’t know each other.
Their recorded testimonies have been edited to create a series of audio ‘landscape portraits’, somewhere between documentary and fiction, close to everyday life and more than a little further afield. Complemented by various texts (by Baudelaire, Queneau, Mona Chollet and others), this material is taken up, assumed and reinvented on stage by four actors. The aim is to invite the audience to ask themselves the same questions, while at the same time exploring a number of concrete answers, offered as indirect self-portraits.
The utopia: that through these confidences – open windows into the intimacy of people who may or may not resemble us – everyone will recognise in themselves what they call ‘home’, and discover in it a living source of their own imagination.
We question the real, the everyday real: the real of each of us at home, in the shelter that protects us but always runs the risk of isolating us a little. In this personal shelter, we propose to open a window onto an imaginary, dreamed-of elsewhere, like another perspective on the surrounding world… This journey on several levels is constantly unified, impregnated and revived by the evocative power of sound. Here, the theatrical space and the spatiality of sound enter into interference, feeding off each other.
The theatrical creation is based on work (recorded interviews, workshops) with residents of the Agnettes neighbourhood in Gennevilliers. Their voices, dreams and objects interact with the presence of professional performers on stage.
Sound on stage: from radio documentary to theatrical fiction. There will be four actors on stage, with sound installation and control on sight. They will take charge of and reinvent the recorded testimonies of local residents (cf. the portraits). Sound and musical materials. The collaboration with the sound designer, musician and mixer Jules Wysocki was decisive in the way we approached this work on stage. Jules is a percussionist and composer of computer-assisted music, but he also works in sound mixing for the cinema: he can truly reinvent the sounds of reality as well as compose imaginary landscapes.
